1st Grade Class Play

My Mother's Day Gift

For Mother's Day this year, I made gifts for my Mom at school. One of the things she liked the BEST, was a book that I made about her. We had to "fill in the blanks." Here are all my answers about my Mom.

My Mom's name is Rachel.
The color of my Mom's hair is blonde.
My Mom's eyes are blue.
My Mom weighs about 130 pounds. (She was especially happy about that one!)
I think my Mom is 31 years old.
My Mom's favorite color is pink.
My Mom's favorite TV show is Ellen.
My Mom's favorite junk food is pizza.
My Mom doesn't like to be crabby.
My Mom likes to eat pork but don't give her brussel sprouts.
My Mom looks prettiest when she wears make-up.
In the summer, my Mom likes to swim.
In the winter, my Mom likes to build snowmen.
My Mom's favorite pastime is to watch TV.
My Mom likes to watch TV with me.
My Mom's wish is to have a better life for us.
I behave best for my Mom when I listen.
I like being with my Mom the most when I can sleep in her bed.
I enjoy listening to my Mom read the story Harry Potter.
If I could give my Mom something special it would be a stuffed animal.
My favorite thing about my Mom is her love.

The day we took Grandma and Grandpa to Space Aliens

My Mom has been a little too busy with school to keep up with my blog. But, now that she is a SENIOR (yes, that's right! she passed all her classes!) and has the summer off of school she is going to try to keep up a little better. So, let's backtrack about 3 weeks to when G & G came down to watch me at my music concert. On Saturday, we went to Space Aliens. As you can see, I like to play games.

And in the following pictures, you will see that Grandma and Grandpa also like to play games. Maybe even more than me! My Mom told us the rules when we got to the restaurant. "No playing games until AFTER we eat lunch." Well, she might be the boss of ME, but do you know who is the boss of HER? That's right - GRANDPA! While we were waiting for our food, he said, "Hey Parker, let's go look at the games." And my Mom said, "Not until after lunch." And Grandpa said, "We are just going to LOOK." Yeah. Right. I think Grandpa had his dollars out before we even got over to the game room.

I'm not sure how many times Grandma played this game, but it was A LOT. She tried and tried and Grandpa kept getting more and more tokens. It was pretty funny. Grandma gets pretty excited.

Here she is playing....AGAIN. If you look closely at Grandpa's hand you can see he already has another dollar out and ready for her. Hahahahahahaha!

And finally, here is Grandpa cashing in all his tickets. :) Don't worry, he shared. Actually he gave them all to me and I got to pick out prizes. It was a great day at Space Aliens. I am so happy that I have such wonderful Grandparents to have fun with!! Thanks guys!

My Mom had fun with them too. She got to take them to her school and she finally got to show them where she spends all her days and they got to meet Mom's friends/classmates too! And my Mom scanned Grandpa in the lab using one of the Ultrasound machines! That was pretty fun for her. I think they enjoyed seeing all the things my Mom is learning.

1st Grade Concert

Last Friday, I had a singing concert at my school with all the 1st grade classes. We had so many people come to watch us. It was awesome. My friends and I walked up to the bleachers and scanned the crowd and you could tell when we saw our families out in the audience because our faces would light up and we would wave and smile like crazy. My guests were my Mom and Dad, Grammon and Papa W and Grandma and Grandpa P. I am so lucky to have so many people who love me!

We sang so many songs. Many of them had silly verses so we could make the audience laugh. That was the best part. Everyone said we did a great job. We had a blast and it was a great day. (But my Mom is kicking herself because she forgot to take a picture of me with BOTH sets of my Grandparents. Wouldn't that have been cool? Oh well... next time! Somebody remind her!)

Getting back to normal

I am sure that most of you know that we had some very sad news last week. My Grandpa P's sister Florence passed away. She was a very funny lady who always made me laugh. She made the best jelly and pickles in the world. She was always interested in what I had to say and she will have a special place in my heart forever. The funeral for her was on Thursday and it was a packed church and a beautiful service. I am sure she loved all the gorgeous plants and flowers that were sent in her honor. My Mom and I were so happy that we got to spend the day with our family. We love each and every one of you so much. It makes us smile now to think of Anty Flossy in heaven with Uncle Neil and Great Grandma Potucek, sitting on a front porch somewhere in rocking chairs... watching the birds.

Spring Break

I know... I know... It has been FOREVER since we posted! We have been busy but we don't have anything real exciting to blog about! Like Finn's Mom Kari, I will post in list format because it's fast and easy! Ha ha!

*On Feb 1 I watched the Superbowl with Dad.
*Eye Doctor appointment on Feb 6. I got new lenses.
*Mom has passed all her tests (so far) and is happy about that.
*Happy Birthday to: Crissy, Anty Randi, Gina P, Kari R, Cherie, Lotti and Desi!
*My girlfriends Gina and Carly watched me on Feb 12 so my Mom could go fishing.
*Mom went on her annual fishing trip with the girls and had LOTS of fun. (See Facebook)
*On Feb 13 I got to go to a Children's play with my school.
*I loved celebrating Valentine's Day with all my friends at school!
*I got to spend a whole weekend with my friend Mary while my Mom played with Desi and friends.
*My Grammom came up and watched me and my brother Matthew while I was at Dad's a few weekends ago.
*It's almost my brother Matthew's birthday! He'll be 1 year old.
*My parent/teacher conference went well!
*Mom and I went up north and spent part of our Spring Break with Grandma & Grandpa P, Great Grandma, Anty Randi, Uncle Reed and Karlee. Oh! And my cousin Jake came out to the farm and spent the day with us one day!
*Mom studies all the time.
*Mom has lost 37 pounds.
*I was super excited to see my Dad yesterday and can't wait to spend the weekend with him.
*Mom is stressed because she works all weekend and has BIG tests next week.
