An Emotional Week

As you can imagine, my Mom's family and I had a tough week. It's hard to say good-bye to a loved one. We were blessed, however, to be able to spend so much time with family. It was a fun time visiting with all my relatives - some of whom I had never met! My Anty Randi was there too and as many of you know, she is just the coolest thing since sliced bread.

On Wednesday morning, my Mom, Grandma and I went to see my Grandpa where he was working. He invited me to come over there because they have... tons of cats! They are all outside but they are very tame! There was black cats and orange cats and striped cats and cats of all sizes. It was so much fun. I got to feed them bread and they ate right out of my hand. I really hope I can go there again next time I go up north.

On Thursday night, while my family was at Great-Grandpa's Memorial Service, I got to spend time with my friend Berna! She is so much fun! My Grandma worked with her for 21 years and they are very special friends. We had chicken and mashed potatoes for supper and it was so good. I got to ride with her husband Earl in the combine and after that Berna made a bonfire just for me! I had marshmallows and striped cookies and it was awesome! She gave me pumpkins to take home and a Halloween shirt. I hope I get to see Berna again real soon.

My Mom has some exciting news.... cousin Jodi and her husband Jon asked Mom to be the GODMOTHER of their little girl! My Mom says that being a godmother is a big honor and a very important responsibility. She was very thrilled to be asked and can't wait for the "God-mother-ing" to begin.

On Saturday night, Grandpa made a bonfire at the farm! I don't know if you know this about me, but I LOVE bonfires. We made hotdogs right over the fire and after we got done with those, Grandma brought us a snack - POPCORN! We had a radio outside and everything. It was so much fun and the best part is that I get to go back there in 11 days!

It's back to school for me tomorrow and I am worried that I will have tons of homework! After all I did miss 4 whole days of school. This kindergarten stuff is tough! (Obviously I've mastered the whole rhyming thing!) Ha!
