Strep again...

Hi. It's me. I am writing this blog from the couch where I am snuggled under a blanket. Here's what went down...

I was sitting in Art class at school today when all of a sudden I just didn't feel good. I told my art teacher that my throat hurt real bad and she had me to go to the nurse's office. When I got there, the nurse felt my head and took my temperature. It was 103! She called my mom to come and get me and while I was waiting for her I took a little nap. My mom woke me up when she got there and when I saw her I started crying. I felt really bad. She was pretty worried about me so she took me right to the clinic. (She had called on her way over and made an appointment for me.)

Well, we got there and the doctor examined me. She had the nurse test me for strep. Do you know how they do that? They stick a swab down your throat! It is the yuckiest thing in the world. It actually made me "get sick" if you know what I mean.

Shortly after that we left and headed to the pharmacy to get my prescription for antibiotics. I didn't even want to get out of the car - that's how bad I felt. But mom said she couldn't leave me all by myself so we made a deal. I said I'd go in if I didn't have to walk around. She carried me into the store and put me in a cart. She pushed me around while we waited for my medicine. I guess we waited a little too long because pretty soon my tummy felt terrible and I leaned my head over the side of the cart and... well, you can probably guess what happened. There were some nice customers nearby that helped us out. One ran to get a garbage and one gave us a bunch of wet wipes. Shortly after that my prescription was ready thank goodness.

We got home and I put on my pj's, laid on the couch and fell asleep at 2:30. I slept until 5:30! Now my mom and I are watching a movie and relaxing. I sure hope I feel better soon!

How was your day?
