St. Patty's Day

Guess what? Today my Mom and I colored Easter eggs and yesterday we baked a cake! I was kidding around with Mom and told her it was her birthday and she said, "Well let's bake a cake then!" It was so cool. The cake is shaped like a heart. Mom says that her Grandma P. used to make heart-shaped cakes for special occasions and they were SO good. I wish I could have tried that cake!

Because we colored so many eggs, Mom said I can have an egg-salad sandwich for supper! We don't have any of the "regular" Grandma's homemade buns, but Mom bought some fresh baked bread today so that should be OK. ;) Speaking of Grandma and Grandpa P, I can't wait until they come to visit! I have a program at school in a couple weeks and they are coming down soon to spend the whole weekend with us!

Happy early St. Patrick's Day to everyone! Are you Irish or do you just pretend to be so you can celebrate? I don't think I'm Irish at all... am I?

Last week was a bit of a difficult week for me. I don't know if I have Spring Fever or what but I have gotten myself into some trouble at daycare. Unfortunately for me, I have been grounded since Wednesday. But, I have learned my lesson and now I can't wait until this punishment is OVER!

What are you doing for Easter? I get a 4 day weekend! I am spending Easter with Dad at Grammom and Papa's. I can't wait. That darn bunny always hides my basket in the funniest places. This year I told Grammom that it will probably either be hidden in the oven or in the bench.

For those of you who I have bugged in the past with school fundraiser stuff... have you noticed that this year the only thing I asked you to do was buy a magazine? (Picture me smiling at you here.) I am doing a read-a-thon for school! If you would like to pledge an amount for each book I read, please let me know. I only have two weeks to do it, and they said we can't read more than 20 books. The money we raise goes to the PTA and helps to fund our school's field trips. Thanks for your support!

Hi Parker - Hope you have a very Happy Easter and find your basket without too much troulbe.
Grandpa and I will pledge $1.00 for each book you read during your read-a-thon. Happy Reading!
Sorry to hear you were in trouble. Punishment is not fun is it? But if we learn from our mistakes, that is good.
Have a great day, Love, Grandma

Hey Parker,
Your mom is right-Grandma P's cakes were so good! And she would make roses out of gumdrops to decorate them with too. I bet your cake was yummy. Moriah and I helped 1st and 2nd graders color eggs for and Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday. We had so many eggs! It was fun! The big kids hid them for the little kids at church.

I hope your grounding gets over fast. Sometimes I want to do stuff I shouldn't too, but I don't because I am too old to get grounded! People would laugh at me!

Love,
Cuz Sheila

Yes, Parker you are some Irish. Your great great gramma was Ellen Teherney. So we do get to celebrate that day with authority. Papa and I think you read great, and we will sponsor your read-a-thon for $1.00 a book. Go for it. Have a good day. Love Grammom
