When I was just a baby, Grandpa bought a train set for us. Every year he has set it up under/around the tree and since I have been old enough, I get to help. The train has a remote control, it sings Christmas carols, it can go forward and backwards and it makes the "wooo woooo" sound of a real train. I have loved this train for as long as I can remember and it has always been a Christmas tradition.

Now, I know Grandpa bought the train for me, but he has had fun with it too. Grandma told me that the first year he set it up, she had to buy him new batteries for the remote before I even got to their house for Christmas. He played with it so much he wore the batteries out! My Mom likes the train too. Me and Mom laugh cuz' sometimes, Grandpa calls my Mom and if she's not around the only message Grandpa leaves is the sound of the train. So Mom checks her voicemail and hears, "WOOOO WOOOO" and Grandpa doesn't even say anything on the message. This is comical. Especially to Grandpa. I just had to share that story with you. I love the train!

Now to Thanksgiving... we went to Grandma's sister Patti's house. It was a very nice day and Patti made a wonderful meal for all of us. I had three helpings of stuffing. It's my favorite! I got to see my cousin's Lindsey, Jenna and Jake and I even got to play basketball and guitar hero "legend of rock." It was so awesome. Jake is so much fun to play with. I look forward to seeing him again soon. Maybe at Christmas? I hope!
The picture above is me and Grandma. Mom, G & G and I went to a hotel on Saturday night and it had a big water park! (Thank you so much for sharing your hotel weekend with me Grandma!) I had so much fun sliding down the big slides and swimming all around. Randi and Reed came to visit and while they went to the hockey game Karlee and her friend Morgan stayed with us at the hotel. We had snacks and ordered pizza when we were tired out. We swam for 5 hours!

This morning, Mom and I woke up and decided to decorate our apartment for Christmas! She made coffee for her, hot chocolate for me and cranked up the Christmas music. I like to help decorate. I especially like helping put the ornaments on the tree and hearing all the stories Mom has. Did you know she has a special memory or story to go with almost every ornament? Today she got a little teary eyed when she talked about her Grandma Muriel. Sounds like she was a pretty special lady.
Here is our tree! Isn't it beautiful? I can't wait until it gets dark outside so we can see the lights twinkle. Happy December 1st! Only 24 days til' Christmas! Yippee!

Hey Parker! Sounds like you had a GREAT weekend!
Your tree is beautiful, and I love you and your Grandpa's train. Since he is my uncle, you know, that story of him calling your mom and leaving the "choo-choo" on the machine makes me laugh very hard!
And I know why your mom gets a little teary eyed when she talks about her Grandma. She was a wonderful person, and I miss her very much also. I was thinking of her this morning when I was thinking of Christmas and traditions and bushtikies. I made some Christmas Cookies today, and I always think how I wish I was as good of a baker as she was.
I wish you lived closer to me. We could have MORE hot chocolate and eat some of my cookies!!
Love you!
Cuz Sheila
What fun you had! All that stuff about your Grandpa sounds about right, he's funny!
You're tree looks so beautiful!
Your Grandpa is a really funny guy! Just looking at him often makes me laugh.
So glad that you had a good Thanksgiving. Stuffing is my favorite too.
Grandma Muriel was a wonderful lady. Even though she was not MY Grandma, she always treated me like one of her Grandkids.
Oh, and your tree is so pretty!
Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Parker. I like that picture of you and your Grampa with your train. I think we have a train also from when your Dad was little, but think it always went around the corner too fast and fell off the track. Yup only 24 days left 'til Christmas. Looking forward to seeing you then. Love, Grammom
Mom says Great Grandma Muriel always had these little apple ornaments on her tree. Now Mom has one of them. So she found a good spot for that one right in the front. She told me it was very special because it used to hang on Great Grandma Muriel's tree. Mom will have to try and get a good close-up picture of it. (Amy tips Sheila?)
oops - I meant "ANY tips, Sheila?"
Step back...focus...crop! Take a bunch.
That's all I got.
We did have a fun week-end didnt we? It is so much fun to watch you and Grandpa put up the train. I don't know who enjoys it more - him or you-hehe
I am so glad you are coming to see us this week-end. We will have to come up with something special to do. We will have fun while Mom is STUDYING for finals. But I know she won't mind. She will be glad you have something fun to do instead of watching her studying (that might get kind of boring) -
Anyway, see you Friday.
Love Grandma
